Did you all see the ridiculous comments made by the Mayor in the Dawlish Gazette January 2,
She said ' Crime was a huge issue among residents long before I became a councillor six years ago and when we went to the polls we did so saying CCTV was something we wanted to explore'
She forgot to mention that the polls from 1.000 people ( 200 were tourists ) only 2-1/2% even mentioned cameras, thats 32 persons or 16 residents out of the total, also ' Wherever they are sited crime has gone down'. She also forgot to tell you they dont work at night and the council bought the wrong cameras, so who will pay for the new ones?
I hope and I am sure Dom Joly will show her and the Councillors in the their true inefficient light

Typical of our town councillors, they lie, lie and lie. That is the tactic the germans used, tell the lie so often, people in the end began to believe it was the truth.

I see that the council's mayor (not yours, because you have no say in who the mare will be) will donate all her hats to the Dawlish museum. I am sure all the holiday makers will be so pleased about that!!!

Just her hats?! Why not put the dinosaur herself in there?! I'm sure lot's of visitors would enjoy seeing her stilted lowness alongside footage of her spewing untruths to Dom Jolly's accurate questions....

Wouldn't it be nice to see her and other councillor's replaced by people who truly care about their town? We need representation from those who are transparent and not ingrained with the self-serving gene. Sadly,the truth is that we are represented by an inner circle who claim to have the interests of Dawlish at heart....... whilst secretly and quietly carving the town up for themselves all under the banner of local democracy.

Completely agree. Unfortunatley, that's local politics in the UK. Every town run by self serving, pretentious, egotistical incompetents and Dawlish is no different.

I doubt the new Mayoress will be any different as she has been trawled from the same pool of 'inner circle' back-slappers(so much for true democracy heh?!).

Ex Mayor Prowse passed me in the street the other day, with her usual pretentious demeanour. At first, i thought the spring blossom was stronger than normal, then quickly surmised that it was her over-powering perfume. It was enough to stun a skunk!!

Maybe it was covering up the stench of lies and corruption. God bless her amateur lowness in her retirement.
