If you like lesbo-vegetarianist foxy-wrestling, this is the place to be in Dawlish - once the 'reduced' stickers go on the food, this automatically sets off the homing beacons on nubile old ladies, who are dragged to the discount corner via tractor beam.

(Or in many cases, dragged, literally, ....by tractor)

They congregate round there like flies around a Bull's Bum.

Death, be not proud.

Somerfield is the only store that has their so called 'saver card' ..well you are only allowed money off IF you select their current saver bargains. I go mad when I have three or four 'non' special offer items and they 'auto' say at the checkout 'have you a saver card?' ...The answer I give and PLEASE say this too.. 'yes ..but there is NO point'
In Tesco and Sainsburys every £1 you spend helps towards club points and vouchers of Nectar points... but not at Somerfield ...someone told me yesterday it may be a COOP next year ????

Nice to be one of the 4 lol ..cosy!

My Son and Heir was born last tuesday - named... Alex.....

Grandparents in Dawlish, Devon, utterly offline and scared silly of computers. (Too 'new-fangled'!)

In the last Millenium there was a Co-Op near to the Library.

....that's the OLD library. I bet you three juniors don't even know where that was !!!

That's Right, it will be a coop next year, but it will still be sh*t
I have the unfortunate task of going to work there everyday. (I'm wasted there hehe)
I know it's sh*t and I get to be told that by all the unsatisfied customers, sometimes I want to run and hide, sometimes I do ;o)
but still I guess it's important to support local businesses. I couldn't think of anything worse than a Tesco popping up nearby!
In regards to the "saver card" what a pile of crap that is too. I mean you get a load of coupons that you probably never use, and if you do 9 times out of 10 it doesn't scan and can't be used.
Somerfield might improve when they have a bigger store up the road, but I can't see the elderly walking up Exeter road for their shopping.
I say go to the Bakers,Butchers and green Grocers. And go to Somerfields for stuff you can't get anywhere else.

..i.e Somerfield shuts.

But I think its more likely to become an Icelandic.

Then all the shop assistants will be fired and replaced by Freezer Units. Then your frustrations are at an end !!

Well that's true but I'm pretty sure it's going to be coop, anyway if they replace the staff with freezers will they be self filling freezers? cos that would be good.
put it this way, no matter what shop it turns out to be it will most probably still be sh*t, but then if they have frezers that fill themselves perhaps they could create a job for me.
I could just stand around the door and appologize for the shop being so sh*t ;o)

Yes, they make them in Taiwan. People are superfluous.

Actually, ASDA has said today it might buy Somerfield
