Apologies - yes I know i'm banging on about state pensions again but when you get to a certain age boring things like pensions suddenly become very important.

Take a look at this http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-38654321 I had no idea that a grandparent, aged below his or her state pension age, who looks after a grandchild could claim this caring towards their state pension amount.

So if you know of anyone who falls into this child caring category perhaps you could let them know about it.    

Thank for this link, Lynne. There will be many in the community who would seem to be able to qualify - and with the credits going towards topping up any shortfall in the new state pension, a bit of effort with some form filling could prove very worthwhile.
