Audit Commission Report.
For those of you that are interested, here are the main recommendations.

The Council must urgently review its procedures to show that there is a written trail supporting decisions that are made. (In legal parlance, "MUST" is mandatory).
1. Reports to the Town Council involving significant expenditure should be written, rather than verbal, with clear recommendations for the course of action.
2. If necessary for the making of a fully considered decision third party produced documents that are not specifically written as a report to the Town Council should be presented with a covering report.
3. Notes of other meetings should not be presented as reports to another committee.
4. The requirements of the council's standing orders andd financial regulations should be complied with at all times.

The full report can be obtained from the council offices at the Manor

The installation of CCTV has swallowed up a vast sum of money, with year on year running costs. That money could have been better spent.

Its about time this council was brought to book for the monsterous spending on CCTV when it would have been better spent on the younsters skate boarding in area. £500 for a temporary area that they can use once a month is pathetic, and yet they spend £70,000 plus and rising on CCTV and give £30,000 to the theatre. They should remember the younsters of today are the future of tomorrow, like it or not.

I think the theatre is a great cause, they desevre it, there are many kids who take part in the theatre activites, behind scences and on stage, however I do agree that the council needs to be fair, if a vast majority of youth want a skate park, nothing to big in my opinion or somewhere out the way, then thats what should happen

the theate may be a good thing for the youngsters who are interested, but I feel there are far more skateboarders who deserve a park which would allow them to improve their skills.
This town council patted themselves on the back by donating £500 for a temporary site and allows them to use it once a month, how pathetic and two faced is that
