DAWLISH Art Group has hailed a success its annual spring exhibition. Members of the group held their show in the United Reforms Church in Dawlish between May 1 and 5.

The exhibition featured members' works in a variety of media — including watercolour, pastels, acrylics and oils.

Lots of visitors from all parts of the country and locals enjoyed the paintings, prints and cards on sale.

The newly refurbished Strand Centre provided the perfect venue for the exhibition and proved a great place to sample the homemade cakes and coffee. The members were delighted with the interest shown in the work and even more delighted with the very successful sales. It all helps to enthuse the group to produce even more exciting art work for the next exhibition on July 24.

Dawlish Art Club, celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, has members of mixed skills from beginners to those with many years of knowledge and expertise. Members enjoy discussing and exchanging ideas and painting together in a friendly atmosphere. There is a varied programme which includes demonstrations and workshops by professional artists.

The group meets each Thursday afternoon from 2pm until 4pm during school term times at St Mary's Church Hall, Dawlish Warren. This is a superb venue with good light and facilities to inspire any artist.

The next meeting is on June 7.
