I have just read the posting on the notice board about lady looking for her Father. These type of situations always depress me. Growing up in a close working class family I cannot grasp how so many families split up and become detached from one another. I know there are many, many reasons why this can happen but to me it seems incredible how a daughter can go 15 years not seeing her father and not knowing whether he is still alive. So sad.
Any other views on this??

these situations are worse for the children concerned. in some cases the father can be not very nice and in other cases they can be wonderful people. in all cases the children can and will grow up and make there own mind up about their parents.

It is really sad when you here about people who haven't had contact with a family member for years. I have young children and am close to all my family so it is really hard to comprehend what it would be like if of my children lost contact with each other when they get older. Family values don't seem as important in our society these days.
