Brooklyn Bridge's Posts

Thanks for your agreement on this point and being three months behind at this early stage is really unacceptable.  I was talking to Network rail rep the other day and I told him that some of these workers that have nothing to do for hours should be sent down to the sea wall in front of the station and clear all the sand and silt that builds up on the walkway. Yes, they did it once but no more, he ...

Am I being petty? Yesterday a walk down to Coryton Cove and observed the work being constructed with one operator using his digger with no less than 12 workers leaning on the rail watching. There is not a hope as far as I can see that this project will be finished within the time specified. After talking to one of the workers I asked "what are they trying to achieve" he replied "I have no idea" ...

At last, someone has seen sense which is outlined on the main page. It pretty much spells out the disadvantages of having a playground at that location. Yes, where is the money coming from is a great question? what with proposed plans for the elusive and never-ending debate of a new bandstand. Also proposed a new bridge linking the Lawn to Brunswick Place. In the great scheme of things if money is ...

I must admit the report on here and in Devonlive paper suggest that the reastaurant is going to close. My Wife and I have been there many times and have a good relationship with the owner. Feeling disappointed I just called Chi and spoke with the owner and they are the freeholder for the property.  The restaurant is NOT going to close. Whatever they have planned the owner stated that they have ...

Air show
1 Jun 2019

Did any of you happen to watch spotlight Friday night about the Air Show being held in Torbay. They reckon 125 thousand people will attend and briing in 7 million pounds into the local community. Torbay had taken over 4 years ago when we lost ours here in Dawlish. What a brilliant day they must have had today.

Hi 1263, I say grateful as we had nothing in the past but a couple of PSCO's with no arrest power,he did walk the beat as it were before having the bike. I think it's better than driving around in the police car/van all day. But I do agree with you that if we are paying more council tax there is a need for another police officer. How it is now the one we have when on an early shift ends at 4pm and ...

We all should be grateful that we have officer Mark patroling our town. There are numerous times you see many people riding their bikes on the pavement most of which don't care how they ride them weaving in and out around people. Mark has been instrumental on getting rid of most of the druggies and alkies from the lawn area and the town, yes, we still have them from time to time. Mobility scooters ...

Cynets on the Brook.
17 Apr 2019

I do hope that this is just rumour. I heard that 5 of the 6 cygnets born a week or so ago were decimated by a fox. If so this not the first time. Or did someone take them?

Who pays the taxes in this town? How many dogs do the councilors own? Our council taxes keep going up (we got our notice today). Are we just paying for holidaymakers to have the pleasure of our beaches? Why can't there be a time factor such as dogs allowed before 9 am and after 6 pm. wouldn't that be a good compromise. This is ridiculous. Why do we keep having to be inconvenienced for visitors, ...
