@neilh . I didn't need 'correcting' and certainly not by you. Dissolution of the Warsaw Pact, dissolution of the Communist Bloc, end of the USSR, freedom for Soviet satelite states (dare I say the end of the USSRs colonialism!!!!!-oh no!). And changes in the West? None! Of course the West won the Cold War!

@Michael Clayson - Is there any way that all the temporary tarmac and gravel could be used to level up and improve Commons Lane (off Sutton Close - top of Stockton Hill). Better than it all going to landfill (and cheaper!). Some may say I have a vested interest as we have a field off it but I see people walking their dogs there and have a hell of a time getting through the quagmires there. ...

I knew the 'Lefties' wouldn't tolerate a neutral view and suspect the 'Righties' won't either. This is the major problem with British politics. It doesn't matter if it's a good idea and will benefit the Nation if the Tories propose it then Labour will oppose it; if Labour propose it then the Tories will be against it. Similarly if either implement it then inevitably it will be dismantled by ...

@neilh . the cold war was a myth!!!!!!? You obviously never travelled the Berlin Corridor or saw that rather big wall going through the middle of the city. Or saw the Russian 3rd Shock Army lined up on the border. Or remember the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Vietnam War, Korea? All a myth was it. And Mo Mowlam, who did a great job in N. Ireland - no none can say different, would ...

Freeing the Falkland Islanders from dictatorial invasion. Not negotiating with terrorists (see Iranian Emassy Seige, IRA/INLA Hunger Strikers) even though 2 of your closest friends had been murdered. The Brighton Bombing but Tory Conference continuing on time the next day. Victory in the Cold War without nukes (sorry any communists out there - you wouldn't like that would you?) together with ...

So Michael, seeing as the Labour Party is now 'Right Wing', who do you vote for?

6 Apr 2013

Michael you are an extremist who I have no time for. I voted Labour in 2001 - at least that's what it said on the card! I note you still haven't said who you vote for - or do you not take up your constitutional right and remain one of the many who spouts lots but doesn't vote?

Michael Thompson - your views are extreme and shouldn't be aired here which is a forum for Dawlish. You are a 'political' campaigner (if political encapsulates your views!) and you should be banned by the Admin of this site. What you are doing does not contribute in any meaningful way to our debates. In fact I think you have issues which need to be sorted in places other then here.

I'm sure you can work that out for yourself! I've given you enough info about me so come clean then - what are your voting preferences or are you a bit shy about that?
