Why not call it the VW camper/beetle show with may be a few old Porsche's thrown in rather than an ambigous title most will not understand? Yes I am a bit crabby today after spending 4 days in hospital after my body decided to eject a third of its blood supply ha ha ha.
BOO HOO's Posts
Shame these councils cannot put a little effort into making the towns better rather than running them into the ground and charging us through the nose via our rates, in my opinion. Criterion 10. The beach must comply with the Blue Flag requirements for the microbiological parameter Escherichia coli (faecal coli bacteria) and intestinal enterococci (streptococci). The microbiological parameters to ...
Dawlish council have been gagging for years for an excuse to take down all the big trees on either side of The Lawn, in my opinion. I do not think they will be happy until the whole of The Lawn is tarmacced over and looks like a car park.
@1263 Liebour are so far up their own blackhole they think every thing they do is wonderful just like the Greenies until it comes back and bites them in the blackhole then they change it to suit themselves, in my opinion.
The Liberal Democrats have admitted to breaching human rights and unlawfully discriminating against former parliamentary candidate David Campanale for his Christian beliefs. Campanale, a former BBC journalist, was selected as the candidate for Sutton and Cheam in 2022 but was deselected in 2023 following a campaign by local party members who opposed his traditional views on issues such as ...
Let's hope the Manor House does not have the same issue Teignbridge library had with their solar panel installation. Cannot find any where the cost/savings of this new project of Dawlish Council. Should the people of Dawlish be advised of the total cost of this installation/servicing and upkeep relative to the initial outlay. In my opinion the relative electricity obtained from the solar panels ...
Cannot find the official details for this for 2026 only 2024/2025 so what items are included and what are excluded from this service taking place on the 09 May 2026?
@1263 That would be over stepping their authority and require some form of common sense that they seem to lack these days, in my opinion.
Do they not realise that so called clean water is not what enters the surface drains when it rains, but all the oil and petrochemicals from the roads that have been absorbed from motor vehicles and site equipment running back and forth to The Lawn.
I wonder what next major work will be scheduled for Dawlish in the coming year to increase the amount of disturbance to the economy/tourism. I expect it will involve construction, concrete and closing off roads and possibly digging up or building on The Lawn!
Chances are the mattress and chairs did not even get wet!
And when the parasites in power eventually get their cost saving way to centralise all emergency services the situation will get far more dangerous for us peseants.
Police, I did not realise they still existed down here!!!!!!
Might be worth actually dredging The Brook so it had more than a couple of inches of water in it for the ducks/swans first.
Somewhere for all the old Dawlish crackheads/drunks to sit, how thoughtful.
So just doing what they are supposed to do as part of their normal duties obviously nothing to praise them for, in my opinion. A few cops on the beat rather than whizzing past in their cars and vans would stop a lot of crime before it even happens again in my opinion. https://crimerate.co.uk/devon/dawlish Dawlish is among the top 5 most dangerous small towns in Devon, and is the 42nd most ...
Earlier this month I needed dental work but could not get an NHS dentist within 40 miles and have no transport. So I was forced to get a private dentist in Dawlish to do the work. Whilst I was in reception for 30 minutes or so I observed the receptionist making call after call to people canvassing to offer them NHS treatment and sign up to their surgery. After my own dental treatment I asked the ...
Well give it a few more years and The Brook running through Dawlish will just be a gravel path.
Automated service these days normally means a worse service at a higher price.
How do they validate if someone is actually in need or just someone who is not in need just wanting free food?
Over the years Dawlish has had its fair share of arson attacks, shame we cannot round the little focka's up and have a nice big bonfire on The Lawn to send these scrotes on their way, in my opinion. I would bring the marshmellows.
@Steve - The old Bill talk the talk down here but in general they are about as common to see patrolling as a flying pig, obviously I would exclude any sightings of the police chopper though in this analogy.
Broke a tooth over the weekend and in a certain amount of discomfort. Called the NHS 111 and they could get me an appointment for tomorrow but it would be Kingsbridge, South Hams for later today. As I do not have a vehicle of my own it would be a nightmare to get to so I have had to pay to get the tooth taken out locally. Now on the other hand if I were a chap from France who entered the UK ...
When I am driving past the Dawlish college the only people causing a danger are all the idiots running across the road from the Dawlish College.
Speaker of the House is the government, that's why. It is all a pantomime with puppet m.p's who do as instructed by the whips, who are instructed by the party leaders, who are instructed by the civil service, who are instructed by their overlords.
@1263 - This is what you get when liberal democrats get in a position of power, reality goes out the window and in comes fantasy land and the mad hatter and crew take over. A bit akin to giving your children the responsibility of the home finances/ family credit cards and wondering why everything turns into an absolute mess, in my opinion.
Three youths zip around Dawlish on these Surron style bikes all the time.
Dawlish Manor Gardens Play Park was the site of a significant arson attack in July 2023 , shortly after its official opening. The incident occurred in the early hours of 14 July at Barton Hill car park, where four vehicles belonging to Dawlish Community Transport were destroyed in a deliberate fire. One of the vehicles was a bespoke-designed minibus with 5,000 miles on the clock. The charity ...
What get's me is the ridiculous cost of rail tickets vs the crap service you get for it. 21st century and still an archaic train system running on steel tracks.
Most probably angling on a tax payers funded jolly out to Kyiv, in my opinion.
I expect some of the government minister's have their country homes down the line.
Teignbridge District Council (TDC) , led by the Liberal Democrats, has faced significant scrutiny over systemic failings, particularly highlighted by a 2023 report from the Local Government Ombudsman (LGO) . The report found seven serious faults in TDC’s handling of a standards complaint against councillors from the South Devon Alliance (SDA), including breaches of the law, internal rules, and the ...
Hopefully the money will go towards saving more of those poor migrants trying to escape the ravages of Europe and especially war torn France and get to our shores so they may be adorned with as many gifts as the British Government can muster from the tax payer's kitty, Bravo.
Doubt it will be missed considering most cyclists do not even use it anyway, total waste of money.
How about spending the money on things that would make living here better for all. All the council seems todo is follow in the footsteps of central government and spend it on their own pet projects and waste the rest, in my opinion. Dawlish has gone from being a very nice seaside town to a complete sh@thole over the past 20 years and it continues to slide further down with the assistance of the ...
UK Government’s actions increasingly seen as serving elite interests over public good , with multiple reports indicating systemic failures in governance, accountability, and democratic integrity. Trust in government at record lows , according to the National Centre for Social Research, as public confidence in the political system has plummeted due to perceived disconnect between leaders and ...
Glorious Sun Rise this morning from Dawlish. Shame the rest of the town looks like a bomb site.
