Google suggestss that the plan was for it to happen this September, so another month won't hurt IMHO. Personally, I quite like the colour of the viaduct. I'm sure there'd be plenty of people whining if it was, for example, peacock blue or some other strong colour instead. Still, this is Dawlish, where a moan's gotta do what a moan's gotta do!

There are letters of complaints in newspapers about this subject up and down the land. Ever since this government slashed local council budgets, verges everywhere have gone months between strims. It's a local issue, but it's a national disgrace.

I knew I'd read it somewhere before!!!!  The subject of this thread has made it onto Eyes Of Dawlish three years later lol.  Maybe EOD/Alfie has been too busy blowing up his inflatable castle to notice lol?

@Carer .  how on earth can someone saying that they lost something, be in anyway construed as being a slur on the RBL???!!! Paul said he lost it, not that one of Red Sparrows nicked it lol!! @Paul . i'm pleased that you remembered where you left and that it has been returned to you.

Hi there and welcome to Dawlish. The pub is being converted into apartments. I believe that a lot of work has already been completed and that anyway it's nearly all internal refurbishment rather than a demolition and rebuild job. I'm sure that any disruption would be minimal and for only a short time - and anyway the final result will be far better than having to live next door to an ...

£120K sounds like a win-win to me. Well done to our elected representatives for relieving taxpayers of the burden left by the previous CON-DEM administration. I'm pleased that our council have insisted that it must be local housing for local people (not in Royston Vasey style though hopefully).
