No. I was lucky. I found mine on a skip.

@neilh I don't think I have.

@webmaster I can think immediately of two novels containing invented language, "A Clockwork Orange" and "Cloud Atlas." I don't think that the form in which she presents her posts should be an issue unless you were to say the same to someone writing in Chaucerian English, for example. It would be no easier for most people than Rainbow's.

I agree with Duckileaks. Rainbow1 has a style of writing that takes a while to get used to. Once you do, it is straightforward to understand. I don't think that she is particularly abusive by the standards of this forum over the years. She is certainly direct and I can understand people taking offence.

I wouldn't describe what takes place as bullying. However, I can't be doing with it either.

I have no problem with the plan, because, as Rainbow1 points out, I live in Teignmouth. Were I to live in Dawlish, I would have serious problems with it - because it is not a plan at all. It is a vision, glossily presented with pleasant pictures and, no doubt, expensive to produce. Without resources and a schedule, it is no more than a dream - or a sop to persuade voters that action is being taken ...

Oh, for the Backyard days of yesteryear and Viaduct, Dullish, Roy, FEL-699, Emperor Solarzoom IV, User 4549, hundreds of Anons and all the others. Where (or who) are they now? Who among the current generation can hijack any serious thread so that it denerates into a protracted slanging match over something completely different? What has happened to the (probably) alcohol fuelled late-night rants. ...

Affordable Housing

@Brazilnut Nothing on this thread written by Lynne, NeilH or myself has been saying that houses should not be built at all or that they should not be built in a particular place. Indeed, my reason for starting it under the heading "Affordable Housing" was because I believe that people throughout the area should be properly housed, now and in the future, without having to leave the area. I did not ...

Lynne, There are so many plans and studies and policies that it is difficult to make sense of it all. Everything I look at references something else. I am ploughing my way slowly through the Affordable Housing Economic Viability Study from November 2010 http://www.teignbridge.gov.uk/CHttpHandler.ashx?id=27555&p=0 and its appendices http://www.teignbridge.gov.uk/CHttpHandler.ashx?id=27556&p=0 ...
