Yellow suits the Lib Dems

Fracking will contaminate the water table, adversely effect agriculture and the natural environment and undermine the foundations of buildings in the area. Plus it shows the lack of commitment this government has to reducing our carbon emissions. Dawlish like most Devon towns only has one industry and that's tourism, fracking would probably put an end to that too and reduce employment. Who'd ...

@stephen15 I read the 'if' the first time, so what? The scenario is hypothetical, I was questioning the simplistic view that everyone is either Tory or Labour.

Outside composting toilets are a good idea if you have the space, we waste so much water flushing our toilets. Developers don't consider things like 'gardens' as residents' well-being, recreation and relaxation has nothing to do with profit margins and shareholders investments.

@stephen15 Perhaps Tom just resents having to wait for a politician to open the wall before he can go for a stroll, and they just happen to be a Tory (Anne-Marie Morris). And why if someone is anti-Tory are they assumed to be pro Labour? It is possible to hate the Tories and not be a Labour supporter. And wasn't New Labour just 'Tory-Lite', misguided but unlike the current government ...

SANGS are just parks in amongst urban sprawl, the South Devon coast is just becoming a conurbation. SANGS don't necessarily mitigate the impact of developments on the wider area. For example  sewage problems at Shutterton will not only effect the bird colonies and marine life in the Exe Estuary, if exacerbated by further poorly planned development this will result in poor bathing quality at the ...

Just go back to the days when gardens were functional in terms of maintenance and use a small corner for composting. Think about plant selection, growth rates and foliage and consider what you can feasibly manage and compost yourself, it's not just about what looks pretty in the garden centre or on TV, so some big changes might be needed. Forget GoGreen and the like, talk to your ...

I'm getting sick of hearing about the plight of poor landowners, how come we never hear about those who are really suffering under the Tories? Do the Lib Dem councillors represent anyone other than a local farmer, a few Cockwood separatists and gardeners? It's all so very middle class.

Who chose the colour for the carnival website?

FFS why pay to give someone your green material and then buy it off them again a year or two later as compost? It's not green waste - they're nutrients return them to your garden. No need for middle-men. Just use your green bin as a composter, piss in it occasionally or look on You Tube for DIY composting. In days gone by, people had 'compost heaps'. Wow - no bin needed! But you ...
