Rosemary, it might also be worth putting a message on Eye of Dawlish if you are on Facebook.

Also a pdf on Complaints about CICs, might be worth looking at. http://www.bis.gov.uk/assets/cicregulator/docs/appeal-complaints-procedures/09-1650-community-interest-companies-complaint-about-cics-leaflet.pdf

Message from David Force on EOD David Force I have read this thread with no little measure of sadness at the thought that the procession and pram race might not go ahead. Chamber of Trade has stepped in to organise the Misplaced Article Competition, which was dropped by the Carnival Committee. We have now been accused by them of "not asking permission" even though we approached them to ...

The Carnival Committee haven't done much to enamour themselves to the town's people.  I sometimes wonder why it's the people least able to run something like this that end up as the committee.  Okay, some of the people who have volunteered. and there have been many, may not be the easiest to work with but to turn down help from David Force when he was chairman of the local Chamber of Commerce and ...

FB is correct; the street lights are turned off after midnight to save money (energy).  There has been plenty of mention of this in the local papers so it's hardly local gossip.

Thanks J3, yes I'd heard about this from another parent, not from the school.   Luckily I'm not one of parents who'd already booked a limo! Well we have the Parents meeting tonight to discuss the Ofsted report which will be interesting but much too late for us. Now we have the new exam system to contend with which is starting with current Year 7s.  I do hope DCC without Mr Davis will be up ...

Perhaps you're lucky with your classes Emma but my child leaves this year and the last 3 years have been dire; mixed age classes, flaky teachers with major personal issues and poor general teaching.  I know for a fact that a number of parents in my child's year have paid for private tutors because of the bad maths in particular.  My older child was at Gatehouse under Frank Znederic when it was a ...

Any Gatehouse parents with a view on the latest Ofsted report, especially those in Year 6?  Feeling very let down with 'requiring improvement' grade.  The quality of teaching has definitely slipped in the last few years, especially in Maths.  Looks like those children moving up to the secondary school in September are going to have to work extra hard to catch up with the children coming from other ...

I think people are aware but there is a chance of losing people's interest with multiple threads.  There's even someone on Eye of Dawlish blaming car vandalism on the bedroom tax.
