@leatash - it was just an idea i was putting forward. agree with you that it would probably wash off/be scoured off but think nontheless that something along those lines, somewhere in the town might be an idea worth pursuing. A mural of the iconic dangling railine at the rail station perhaps? And also, what a fantastic pub sign it would make for any pub by the name of........ The Hole In The ...
Found this but not sure how old it is http://www.publicartonline.org.uk/casestudies/lighting/making_waves/percent4art.php If any district councillor should read this post any chance they could let us know if this TDC Making Waves policy re public art is still in operation or not. And if not, has it been replaced, and if so, with what? Ta.
On this art idea. Sometime ago, many threads ago, this idea got discussed, initiated if memory serves, by Ilfracombe having a piece of art installed at its harbour. I was wondering who is paying for all this and how much it is costing 'em. Dunno about anyone else but this is the second lot of post from the Conservatives that has come through my door in as many months. Are these letters going out to all aged 17+ in the constituency? And then don't forget there is a reply paid envelope enclosed with each questionnaire sent out. So where's the dosh coming ...
