Isn't NR presently looking at the option of putting a breakwater further out at sea to help stop this happening?
As Clive has already said in his post (see above) a cost benefit analysis may have shown that the money would be more than recouped by the boost the cyclists will bring to the local economy. Also of course, cycling being a way of keeping fit and healthy, there could be a cost benefit to the NHS.
@Clive - believe you said on another thread that you live in the West Cornwall parliamentary constituency of Truro and Falmouth. I've just read that the Tory MP there only won by 435 votes over the Lib Dem in 2010. That right? In that case you are in a Tory marginal 'n all.
