@leatash - someone in my family was also on the receiving end of a similar attempted scam. thing is though she kept a thorough record of where & when the parcel was sent delivered/signed for etc and then argued her case. she won. the person on the other end kept chopping and changing their story re the 'non delivered'item which sort of made the whole thing distinctly fishy from the very start. ...
Irrespective of geography and nearness to Teignmouth I believe Holcombe is in the parish of Dawlish as is lots of the property to the east of Teignmouth. Have you noticed where the "Welcome to Teignmouth" sign is when you go to Teignmouth from Dawlish? Well, all those houses the Dawlish side of it are in Dawlish and not Teignmouth irrespective of their closeness to Teignmouth. this link ...
When the word 'town' is used just what is it people have in mind? The size of the shopping area, the overall area of the town (by which I mean urban and suburban land area combined) or the population of the town? Dawlish population - circa 13,800 T'mouth population - circa 14,500
Would have put this on the thread below started by ramt65 but can't for some reason. (Webmaster?) Anyhow, just wanted to say that having looked at the contact details left on this site and on EoD I cannot find any phone number or e-mail address for this new service. Just thought I'd point that out.
Just thought I'd bump this thread up as I went along to the car boot sale today (same site as the open market). Not very many stalls but it may take some time for word to get around. I notice now that there is a big sign at the entrance of the field which is easily visible from Mount Pleasant Road giving details of this car boot sale. If you or anyone you know are thinking of going don't get ...
Okay so the plants may need dead heading, watering and some tlc but if like me you want/need instant colour in your garden then perhaps you might want to pay a visit. Just got myself two hanging baskets for £15.00 (were £15.00 each) and now having come back and taken stock of what else the garden could be doing with I'm off out there again. Open today (Sunday) Closed Monday and Tuesday.
On this issue of repainting old furniture in order to bring it up to date............. Take a look inside The Snooky Trust. I was in there today. Up by the counter is a glass cabinet (Edwardian type style/age - I know because we have an almost identical one in our garage). It has been repainted and looks, I think, stunning. I gather from overhearing a conversation between Caz and someone else ...
Blimey looking at that picture Ziggy I can see sellable 'rubbish' just jumping out at me screaming to be upcycled (and I so hope it was and not just broken up). I can see three bikes, some garden chairs, a bedside cabinet (could always be repainted to make it more fashionable) and a couple of small tables. It does make me wonder what other treasures were there to be salvaged. Like I said "one ...
Yep - we are now one old mattress, one defunct lawn mower, and one broken microwave lighter 'n all. Many thanks (and just goes to show how much a local tip service is needed?). People down there seeing what's being discarded? Personally I don't have a problem with that after all one person's rubbish is another person's "that's just what I've been looking for" and if any of it is sold off ...
