Yes, agree totally. 1930s houses everytime if you want a garden big enough for the kids (grandkids) to play in and have room for a veggie patch/ornamental plants and flowers. So, although lots of new houses are being built many of the between the wars houses have a certain something the new houses don't - a decent sized, enclosed, safe for kids and dogs to play in, garden. Would be great if the ...

@Annother46 - local council funding is determined by central government. the cut backs in the funding of local government leading to the cut backs in local services have been due to the cut backs in central government grant and the restrictions placed by central government on local government with regard to how much local councils are allowed to increase their council tax charges. the two forms ...

Take a look on Eyes of Dawlish fb for a posting about Easterhill nursery. Seems it is under new management and there are lots of plants for sale at incredibly low prices. Bedding plants at 5p each apparently. Nursery open 9-6. https://www.facebook.com/EODawlish

Quite. What I find amazing is why anyone living along there thinks their wishes for privacy will take priority over the security of the rail line. Which isn't to say that they aren't entitled to express their concerns and wishes - of course they are. It's just that the rail line and its security will trump any objections concerning privacy and/or noise.

Oh do I soooooo miss not being able to walk along the beach (low tide) or sea wall path when there's a higher tide twixt the town and the bridge by Rockstone. Exeter Road is unbelievably boring to walk along. And take a look at page XVI of the property pages in today's Gazette. Force and Sons are acting as agents for a ground floor flat for sale on Sea Lawn Terrace. It'll have more than ...

Yes beautiful day. Travelled back to Dawlish from Newton Abbot on train. Lovely journey any day but absolutely stunning on days like today. Tide was out. Saw lots of kids exploring the exposed rocks on the various beaches and having a great time. Thank you for reporting the apparent sewerage leak Flo. I saw it as I was going out but although I had phone I didn't have SWW phone number to hand. ...
