The South West must thrash out a time frame to future-proof the Dawlish Railway Line, the former chief of Network Rail has said.

Sir John, speaking at a round table conference at the Met Office super-computer building in Exeter on Wednesday, said: “To find the solution to Dawlish, the South West and Network Rail have to come together, there needs to be a time line and for somebody to say: 'We're not going to let people out of the room until we come up with a solution'.
