Berry Head has charged for car parking for as long as I have been going there and that is at least 10 years.

And I bet you a million dollars that it hasn't been TBC that has received a penny of the charges. TBC is in finacial difficulties, there is even talk of them cancelling their unitary authority status. There is also talk the DCC will not entertain TBC coming back into the fold with such a debt as that would mean the tax payers of DCC having to pick up the tab.

So wouldn't you think that TBC would sieze on any oportunity to get money from any source they legally can, to reduce the burden that their own tax payers are having to deal with?

I have now got our own MP working on it - at last, so we will see what happens.

All I can say is that since I sarted to make inquiries about this, I have been given the most horrendous bullshit, not just from officers of TBC, but from the director of the Torbay Costal and Countryside Trust, who think they own the car park under lease. I have documents which clearly show they should not have anything to do with the car park or the overflow car park. The private parking company that is at present receiving all the benefits from charging to park and getting the income from those who haven't paid via a PCN, have been hoodwinked into believing that TCCT are the rightful leaseholders to the car park, when nothing could be further from the truth.

So all I can say is, I feel sorry for those that have paid to park, don't pay to park there and challege any PCN  that you might get. I say might. as I have heard that anyone that does challenge a PCN issued by the private parking company is soon dropped.
