From Teignmouth and Dawlish Neighbourhood Police

On Monday 21st March 2016 the police office located on Brunswick Place in Dawlish will close and operations transferred to an office located within the Dawlish Fire Station.

Although this office will not be open to the public it will provide officers with a base from which to work and deploy so we continue to provide a high level of service to the community of Dawlish and the surrounding area.

Sergeant Joe Mathews said:

“This extends a wider partnership with our colleagues at Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue and it allows neighbourhood officers to have a forward base from which to operate within the Dawlish area.”

“I would like to reassure the community that nothing has changed in terms of officer cover, we will still have a full time constable, PC Ray Faichney, and two full time Police Community Support Officers, Tamzin Campbell-Moseley and Gary Cairns covering the town. In addition to these neighbourhood resources a full contingent of patrol officers will continue to be deployable from the Teignmouth Police Office and we constantly review the ways in which we deploy staff across policing areas to better meet the needs of the community, especially for those who are particularly vulnerable or at risk.”

“Whilst I am confident we will not see a reduction in service I appreciate the office was, when open, a focal point and its closure may be a concern for some.”

“We will remain visible within the town targeting our foot patrol and continue to strongly encourage any feedback or information from the community to help keep the area safe. There remains a multitude of options for getting in touch with us:
