Just been to vote, and for the first time in my middle-aged life I had to queue - to get in, to vote and put that vote in the ballot box.

This was at St Agatha's.  What are the other polling stations like?

Two UKIP party members outside my polling station door, which is in a narrow, darkish alleyway.

On the one hand that stereotype appeals to my dark sense of humour, but I wish party activists wouldn't hang around polling stations, it lacks class. And intimidates some.

That's a relief.  Thought it might be Jack The Hat McVitie lending them some muscle from beyond the grave.

I have just been to vote at The Manor Dawlish. As this has been my first time voting in the UK for 30 years I found it to be very easy, however some strange points on my observation of voting here.

1. They checked my voting card and checked me of the list.

2. I asked if they needed ID to which they replied NO.

3. I did ask why no ID was required, to which a blank look was my answer.

Voting in the States is more controled to which they ask you to confirm your address and have to present the ID like a drivers license and that ID had to match your address.

Just curious observations that's all.

Yes St.Ags was brisk when I was there about 2.30 this afternoon and my other half has just come in from there and said how busy it was, cars everywhere.

All the extra voters from the Buntings, Nickleby Place and Swans Rise perhaps having something to do with it?

And imagine how many more voters there will be in 5 years time from now when even more housing in the Gatehouse area has been built.  (provided we've got the appropriate amount of Sangs in place of course wink. )

I didn't have my polling card but I took my passport and Council Tax bill in case they wanted ID but they only wanted my surname and address.     Very easy to nobble if you know someone's not voting so am posting this as the polls are closing...

I was overjoyed that Younger-Ross's comeback hit the buffers in such a spectacular way.  At least he still has his DCC salary to fall back on, and maybe a pension from his stint in parliament.

Why were you juming up and down? What do you think the Tories will do that is so good in the next 5 years. for the collective good of the country that is, not just for an individual lets say.

I was celebrating RYR's defeat because I despise him and his party.  And I vote for a party that I think will cause me the least damage over the next five years.  Simples.

Better hope you don't fall ill over the next five years then.
