Why do these wide load lorries have to keep travelling the narrow roads between Exeter and Dawlish during the morning rush hour?

I realise they are working, but why can't they just wait until after 9am when the roads won't be so busy.

Surely that would be better for them and certainly better for everyone else.

I agree Leatash  I wonder what time Passenger Paul took his photo?

Heres my version of a more typical Devon rush hour:

Perhaps it wasn't too long, but once you get to Sanville Way it's crawling pace, so these wide load lorries just make it worse for everyone.

as @roberta says travelling overnight would be a much better idea.

Or build these caravans/chalets on site, which would provide some much needed local jobs.

ey do cause chaos the other day the queue was right back to Swans Nest, 50mins later arrived in Dawlish. A couple of months ago the road was blocked  because of 2 between Powderhamturn off and Swans Nest not   5min delay but 30mins. I know they have to deliver but if itwas done overnight or early mornings ie 4am itwould cause less hassle
