Interesting item on BBC this morning, if you are looking after a relative or friend you can find yourself worse off now the minimum wage has been increased. The example given was a carer working 16hrs a week and maybe claiming working tax credits would now lose there carers allowance. The reason for this would be the 16hrs would now equal £104 per week £2 above the allowance. If they dropped to 15hrs they would keep the carers allowance but lose the working tax credits whichever way you look at it they would be £60 - £70 per week worse off after this increase. What an abnomality this system is.                                                                                http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-29483148
