Helping Hand for Dawlish Jobseekers

An innovative project by Devon County Council to help support unemployed local people back into work and support those looking for their first job will be held at the Dawlish Library on February 22nd from 10am-12noon.

The regular two hour 'work club' sessions take place every Wednesday from 10am-12noon and are run in partnership with Dawlish Rotary Club, Next Steps Training and Job Centre Plus.

I see from this week's Dawlish Post that the outlook doesn't seem too good for those in Teignbridge who are seeking work. (see page 3 "Three Chasing Each Job Vacancy".). And remember, those figures only relate to people claiming Jobseeker's Allowance. Don't forget that there are many others who would like to work but who don't sign on for one reason or another

According to the article, Devon County Council economics unit says that it does not expect overall unemployment levels to improve in the 'forseeable future'.
